Memorial Day events enhanced during Bucyrus' bicentennial year BUCYRUS - As the city transitions from the pandemic of 2020 to the bicentennial of 2021, civic leaders are excited about enhanced events slated for Memorial Day. "We want to make it a really special day for veterans," said Randy Fisher, a member of the Bucyrus Bicentennial Commission. "Especially those who gave the ultimate sacrifice." To achieve that goal, the commission has teamed up with the Veterans Memorial Society to make this year's Memorial Day Commemoration Parade and Ceremony one of the biggest the city has ever seen. It will be a welcomed event, considering it was canceled in 2020, according to Dave Robertson, treasurer of the Veterans Memorial Society.
