Mexico renews with drug task force Published by admin on Thu, 07/08/2021 - 5:48pm By: Editor The city of Mexico renewed its participation in the East Central Drug Task Force, a cooperative effort between law enforcement agencies in eight counties and the Missouri Highway Patrol. Mexico’s share of the tab for the year is expected to be $11,500. According to Public Safety Department chief Susan Rockett, that amount has been funded. City Council member Chris Williams said it is important that residents understand that MPSD does not employ officers dedicated to narcotics investigation, although the department typically makes 60 drug-related arrests in the course of their regular duties in a year.
