MGC appreciates RM4mil allocation for Sikh community

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): The Malaysian Gurdwaras Council (MGC) has expressed its appreciation for the government’s concern in allocating RM4mil to 120 Gurdwaras in the country, including RM1mil for the proposed Malaysian Sikh Centre, says its president Jagir Singh.
In a statement on Monday (April 19), he said with the current economic scenario and the government incurring a heavy expenditure of more than RM600bil, the MCG was grateful of the allocation.
Jagir said the MGC also wished to put on record that Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin when attending the Vaisakhi Hi-Tea on April 12, did not at any time declare that "the country is almost bankrupt".
