Voters in Mountain Home approved two sales-tax measures for the construction of a new community center and aquatic complex at McCabe Park, as well as sweeping refurbishments to all of the city’s parks. Issue 1, a permanent quarter-cent sales tax for operation and maintenance of the new facility received 835 votes in favor and 737 votes against, in unofficial tallies. Issue 2, a half-cent sales tax that will sunset after funding bonds for the construction of the project, received 807 votes in favor and 760 votes against. Hearings for provisional ballots that are rejected are scheduled for Monday, with certification of votes to follow.
