MH voters narrowly favor both park proposals

MH voters narrowly favor both park proposals
Mountain Home voters Tuesday narrowly approved two proposals to use sales tax revenue to improve the city's parks.
Residents were asked to approve or deny two proposed taxes at special election. The first, a temporary 0.5% sales tax, would be used to fund improvements to the city's parks and build a community center at McCabe Park. Voters were also being asked to approve a permanent, 0.25% sales tax that would help fund the ongoing operation of the city's Parks Department.
Unofficial results show both proposals narrowly passing, with residents voting 807-760 in favor of the temporary 0.5% sales tax to build the community center and residents voting 835-737 in favor of adopting the permanent 0.25 sales tax to support the city's parks.
