An N.W.T. MLA is worried that Industry department officials and ministers discussed extending mining permits ahead of a court challenge filed by the Chamber of Mines. Acho Dene Koe First Nation and the Tłıchǫ Government say changing permit limits will negatively affect their participation in the regulatory process.
