Special to the Pocono Record Editor's note: The following statement was sent to the Pocono Record by Monroe County NAACP president Christa Caceres. Today, our hearts are with Gareth and Fe Hall, as for them this is a day most of us will never have to experience. They have lost their only child and must work to find peace while in the midst of immeasurable grief. Mental illness is something we need to devote more time, understanding and resources to and we still believe that changes across the board may help prevent another loss of life. We support mental health treatment and resources for law enforcement as well and want to help remove the stigma attached to seeking treatment if it is needed.
