Synopsis The Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas Bill, Essential Defence Service Bill and Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code Bill will also be introduced to replace the respective ordinances issued. The bill proposes to vest land and coal mining rights with the state government for further leasing to the successful bidder. The Centre has lined up 30 bills for Parliament’s consideration and passage in the monsoon session that begins on Monday. The government plans to introduce 17 new bills. According to parliamentary affairs ministry insiders, there are 7 more bills at different stages of consideration and would be passed by both Houses. The new bills include the Trafficking of Persons (Prevention, Protection and Rehabilitation) Bill, which proposes to combat trafficking of women and children, provides for care, protection, assistance and rehabilitation of victims and prosecution of offenders.
