By Julia Bertino Mar 4, 2021 (Lincoln, NE) -- The Lincoln Police Department is releasing more details about the death of a man found in a home Monday morning. During a press briefing Thursday morning, Acting Police Chief Brian Jackson said that 33 year old James Shekie died from a gunshot wound. Jackson said that around 2:00 Friday morning, a neighbor near the 4200 block of 20th Street heard a loud noise, but 911 was not called and police did not respond. Monday morning, officers were called to Shekie's home after neighbors reported seeing a door to the house left open for an extended amount of time. Once on the scene, officers found Shekie dead and the home in disarray.
