More than 1000 Taranaki addresses have had insulation and efficient heating installed through the Government's Warmer Kiwi Homes scheme. More than 38,000 installations took place around the country between July 2020 and the end of June. The target was 25,000. In total, 1038 homes in Taranaki benefited, according to figures published on Tuesday by the office of Dr Megan Woods, Minister of Energy and Resources. Warmer Kiwi Homes, run by the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA), offers Government grants to eligible lower income homeowners, with top ups from community organisations in some centres.
