Motorists asked to show respect to emergency service workers

Manawatū police prevention manager Inspector Ross Grantham said he was disheartened to hear emergency services were verbally abused by angry motorists upset by the delay.
“We even witnessed some impatient drivers making manoeuvres that put them and other road users at risk. As the traffic was moving slowly through a stop-go scenario, some motorists even stopped on the railway line.
“Our emergency services are putting the lives of others first every time they attend a crash scene. In many cases they are saving people’s lives and making sure the scene is safe for both those involved and other road users.
