April 28, 2021BERLIN — The Berlin High School baseball team has started the season with three straight victories, defeating the Colebrook Mohawks by a score of 20-1 last Monday, before beating the Littleton Crusaders 6-4 this past Saturday at Memorial Field. In the 20-1 win over Colebrook, sophomore pitcher Jeremyha Dow threw five innings, striking out 12 and not allowing a single hit in the mercy rule shortened game. On Saturday, Griffin Melanson would extend the Mountaineer winning streak to three, as he threw a complete game while striking out eight to earn his first victory on the mound this season. On Saturday, the Mountaineer bats came out swinging early against Crusader pitcher Josh Finkle. A Ben Estrella single led off the bottom of the first inning before Tyler Rousseau would reach on an error by Littleton shortstop Blake Fillion. Dom Paradis would then work a walk against Finkle to load the bases. Kam Huntoon would then provide a two-RBI single to open the scoring. A pair of walks to Griffin Melanson and Carter Poulin would then force home Paradis. Kolin Melanson would cap off the five run first inning for the hometown team with a two-RBI single.
