Governor Shaktikanta Das of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has highlighted the declining core inflation as a positive amidst volatile headline inflation. He also noted that risks to the inflation outlook come from uncertainties such as adverse weather events, global food and energy prices, and volatility in global financial markets. Das emphasized proactive steps taken to manage supply side interventions and keep food inflation in check. On the growth front, he mentioned that the upcoming festive season will boost consumption, and India is poised to become a new growth engine.
