MPs can debate during September meeting, says Ronald Kiandee

KOTA KINABALU: Lawmakers will not be able to debate at the upcoming special Parliament meeting but they can do so at the subsequent Dewan Rakyat meetings from September," says Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee.
The Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia vice-president was commenting on dissatisfaction from the Opposition after learning debates would not be allowed during the five-day meeting.
"The special meeting called by the Prime Minister is... to discuss matters and the ministries involved in managing the Covid-19 situation.
"It has also already been scheduled and announced that two more meetings will come after.
"These ordinary (Parliament) sessions will provide the chance for each MP to voice their views on the government's direction as well as Bills to be presented and debated," said the Agriculture and Food Industries Minister on Sunday (July 18).
