Good to be with you. Im katy tur. Both candidates are back out on the Campaign Trail after tuesdays debate. Vp Kamala Harris is in North Carolina holding two events in an effort to win that state back. The first in charlotte starts in just about 30 minutes. And well go there live when it begins. Former President Donald Trump meanwhile is in arizona trying to Hammer Border Politics to Swing Voters. But Immigration Policy is not the headline out of the Trump Campaign. The Headline Today is immigrants eating pets. A Fear Mongering Internet Meme that made its way offline and into the mouth of a president ial candidate on a debate stage. How did that happen . It could have been his Vice President ial pick, senator j. D. Vance, who has himself elevated and spread the allegation in online posts. Then again, it could have been Donald Trump himself who found it, and after all, he did say he saw it on tv at the debate. Or it could have been the racist conspiracy theorist, Laura Loomer who brought it to him. She was with him the day of the debate, seen here exiting his plane in philadelphia. And she was with him even after the debate, even after the fallout, accompanying him to a visit with firefighters in new York City on 9 11. At this point ill note shes a 9 11 truther. Why is a 911 truther with Donald Trump for September 11th remembrances. Why is a person who claims immigrants are eating cats in Ohio And School shootings are allowed to happen to help democrats in elections and that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are in an arranged relationship to sway the 2024 outcome accompanying the former president and current Gop Nominee anywhere. Its not just loomer, all of them have perpetuated antisemitic stereotypes or pushed wildly bizarre conspiracies. And trump has surrounded himself with them and many more. The political answer is that they help him reach a sympathetic group of voters who believe that stuff. Another maybe simpler answer is that the former president has a hard time separating fact from fiction. Which is what Vp Harris was driving at in this answer on Tuesday Night. Donald trump was fired by 81 Million people. Lets be clear about that, and clearly hes having a very difficult time processing that. When you then talk in this way in a president ial debate and deny what over and over again with Court Cases you have lost, because you did, in fact, lose that election, it leads one to believe that perhaps we do not have in the candidate to my right, the temperament or the ability to not be confused about fact. Thats deeply troubling and The American people deserve better. But before you dismiss that as a partisan swipe, she is far from the only one whos saying something like that. Just the other day we had on Hr Mcmaster, Donald Trumps former national Security Adviser who wrote in his book that trump found he found it difficult to distinguish between those who brought him Sound Analysis and those real or imagined brought him bromides. With me, New York Times Reporter And Msnbc contributor, Jeremy Peters. The implication is that he has imaginary friends who bring Him Analysis and stories. Vaughn, what is the deal with Laura Loomer, how did she get close to Donald Trump . How close is she to Donald Trump . Reporter i think its important to understand, katy, that this is how the 2024 president ial campaign of Donald Trump has been run for almost two years now, and thats not been to limit his access to anybody. So whether youre Charlie Kirk or Steven Miller or Corey Lewandowski or Laura Loomer, if you want to get ahold of Donald Trump, there is nobody that is going to try to stand in your way. Of course we have seen Campaign Managers and officials like Hr Mcmaster inside of the White House come and go over the course of the last nine years, but what has been unique about this campaign is that its been helped by advisers who have not tried to limit Individuals Access to Donald Trump or tried to convince Donald Trump of who he should or should not converse with, or whether he should talk with Nbc News or whether he should talk with a right Wing Propaganda Trump aligned outlets, and that has really manifested itself in this moment. For 24 hours, Laura Loomer, traveling on the Campaign Plane with Donald Trump. This is not a plane with plentiful seats. You didnt see members of the press or other members of the right wing media outlet. You see Laura Loomer, somebody whos not only a 9 11 truther. Just two weeks ago, she suggested that the School Shooting in georgia was in part due to democrats and the fbi as a means of using it as a political tool. This is somebody who in the Iowa Caucus earlier this year suggested that Nikki Haley worked with the federal government to create a massive Winter Storm to keep trump voters from showing up to the caucus in order to make sure he wasnt the republican nominee, and now you see Laura Loomer continuing to have a presence, despite concerns from trump allies, we should note, outside of Marjorie Taylor Greene, these allies are saying these things privately because Laura Loomer, for anybody who may follow on Social Media, shes quick to lash out that anybody that gets in her way, Marjorie Taylor Greene or jack, he ended up leaving the Trump Campaign to run for congress, and Laura Loomer, i think, katy, its clear shes not afraid of anybody, and shes eager to go on the attack with anybody that gets in her way, and Donald Trump, nine years of political chaos within his campaigns has turned to her in closing weeks as somebody who he is clearly relying on as a Messenger And Somebody who gets his word out there to a now massive audience. There were moments of these questionable figuring surrounding Donald Trump in 2015 to 2016. Vaughn, you know this, jeremy, you know this as well. There does seem to be a difference between now and then. I mean, in 2015 and 2016, he was talking more about policy in the broad sense, he was talking about jobs. He was talking about the economy, talking about taxes, he was talking about immigration. He was talking about china a whole lot. He was talking about issues that matter to people at these rallies, and now its like hes just talking about Internet Memes. I mean, hes gone down rabbit holes, its not just like the weird tangents hes going on. The Conspiracy Theory stuff, dogs eating pets, this stuff, what happened . His material was better back then, and the material he hasnt now isnt working. The stuff they have been throwing out there or is it that hes just more online now . That could be the case. I think hes much more insulated than he has been before. Remember, in 2015, 16, what catapulted him to fame and acclaim in the far right was his championing of this Birther Lie about obama. And back then, he was talking with, you know, the notorious conspiracy theorist, jerome corsi, the God Father of the lie. That worked with the republican electorate. A lot of them believed in that because they didnt want to believe that obama fundamentally was an american. Migrants eating pets, i dont know what part of the psyche of The American electorate that taps into. I want to ask you about that, i know you have done a lot of reporting on the deep red maga world. Vaughn, you have too. Let me play a little bit of what Yamiche Alcindor was able to gather in springfield, ohio, after this allegation from the debate stage, and heres a little bit with a haitian immigrant advocate. What does it feel like to now have to deal with this trauma . Its hard on them. Its hard on them because they have to get a job, to settle down, to hear all of these false accusations. I can tell you, that its really hard on them. They are being more traumatized, not knowing what the future will hold for them. I keep thinking about an interview that i did in at The End of 2020, right before the election. I was in pennsylvania. And Donald Trump was going on about fraud, saying mailin ballots were fraud. And there was no way he could lose his election. If his supporters believed him, what would they do if he did, in fact, lose the election, and i spoke to one guy, and he told me he would be willing to take up arms, he could get violent. That happened. It seemed insane in the moment, but it happened a few months later, and if Donald Trump is out there, and j. D. Vance and Ted Cruz and republicans are out there, and theyre saying these haitian immigrants are eating your pets, how probably or worrying would it be that that online Fear Mongering comes out in a physical way . Right. I mean, this was a fear back then in 2016, in 2020. You know, the rights constant, very personal attacks on Latin American immigrants was going to result in, you know, some type of violent episode. I mean, lets not forget there was a Mass Shooting during Donald Trumps presidency at a walmart in El Paso, texas, by somebody who bought into, you know, this really crazy, just vile, you know, racist Conspiracy Theory against, you know, dark skinned people. Killed a couple of people, including a couple of parents, left an orphan, Donald Trump went down and took a picture with the baby. I know you have sound from the rally in arizona regarding this. What did they say . Reporter i want to let you listen to a little bit of the conversation i had with one of the trump supporters in tucson, when i asked about the eating Pets Narrative and when she heard it at the debate. Take a listen. When did you first hear about the Pet Eating Narrative . I read it on the article, on the news, online, and so when he threw that in, it sounded kind of really weird, but, i mean, i dont go by that, i go by the changes that hes making, what he says he does, and i like that about him. Reporter there was another woman that i talked to, katy, who said that she heard it for the first Time Out of Donald Trumps mouth on the stage, and instantaneously, she turned on her phone and searched and said she couldnt find anything to factually back it up. Theres a desire among these folks that even that sort of rhetoric was turning off to them. Theyre still going to vote for Donald Trump. We have heard Donald Trump, outside of a few Social Media posts and memes about cats and dogs, the only time we heard him verbally say it was at the debate stage. So often we have seen and heard over the years, sometimes these Conspiracy Theories, they take a while to seep in, and so thats why im interested to see where this goes in the days and weeks ahead because the trump supporters i was talking to in tucson, their initial reaction was a chuckle, a laugh, an uncomfortable, it was weird as you heard melinda describing it there, i wonder the extent Donald Trump persists with it. We have seen time and again, that these kind of lies and Conspiracy Theories, they slowly enter the bloodstream, and people become slowly over time more comfortable repeating and parroting it themselves. Well have to wait and see if its the same situation, about this narrative about migrants that is frankly a racist sentiment to suggest otherwise. The updated numbers, 67. 1 million viewers. Tuesdays debate, sorry. Vaughn hillyard, thank you very much. Jeremy, stick around. Joining us now, national Action Network President , reverend al sharpton, its really good to have you, as always. Lets talk about immigration. I read an interesting piece in the dispatch, and this is by the son of a pakistani immigrant, immigrants who grew up in the deep south, and he argues this is completely fair to have conversations about how immigration is changing a community. The effects its having. Changing the culture, et cetera. But that this story, that immigrants are eating pets is much darker and goes much further. Quote, consider this, he says, millions of people, and i just told you the number, millions of people now believe that immigrants are butchering their beloved cats and dogs. How will those people approach immigrants or people they think are immigrants, are we setting ourselves up for another buffalo or El Paso Mass Shooting. Which jeremy referenced a moment ago. Al, rev, what do you think . I think that it is absolutely the thing that is frightening to us. Im here in Washington Today at our National Action Network office, and yesterday was in the new york office, meeting with haitian leaders by zoom, that theres genuine concern about where this could go, including some violence. When youre telling people from a former President Of The United States giving credibility to this outright lie, this hallucination that there are haitian immigrants, theyre not just saying immigrants, theyre being specific. Haitian immigrants that are eating your animals, your pets, your cats, your dogs, youre setting up for somebody to do something that is horrific at worst. And at best, youre setting up a racist situation for haitian americans. Lets remember now, katy, that Donald Trump is the same one that called haiti and several african countries shole countries. He has a fixation with black countries and black people. He didnt just say migrants are eating your pets, haitian migrants. Any black, anyone of color in springfield, ohio, looks like a haitian walking down the street, you dont stop and take a test on their accents or look for their nationality. So this is a threat to all of us, and it should be taken as such. Which is why i have been talking to haitian leaders on how we should respond in unison, black and white. You have Laura Loomer, you have, over the years theres been theres so many i Cant Name them all. Nick fuentes, people who have been perpetuating racist or antisemitic Conspiracy Theories that Donald Trump has surrounded himself with. Hes been around them. The democrats have had a hard time uncoupling Donald Trump and whos hes surrounding himself with, i guess, the supporters, they argue hes a racist or say hes surrounding themselves with racists. Sometimes, or a lot of time, Donald Trump supporters will say, hey, what are you talking about . Screw you, im not a racist, im not a conspiracy theorist, youre denigrating me. How do the democrats point out, look who hes with, look what hes doing . Do you want to be associated with them . Without painting the entire Support System as racist or as xenophobic or antisemitic, et cetera. Well, i think clearly you have to point out to everyone that it is a threat throughout his career dealing with this. In the 70s he and his father were sued by the Justice Department, not by a civil rights group, Justice Department for racial discrimination, then you go to the late 80s where he took out an ad, 85,000 Ad Calling for the execution of five young black and brown men accusing them of the rape and the brutalizing of a vicious crime that happened to a young white female. All right. Fine. A lot of people felt they were guilty. They were coerced into confessions. But then dna proved that they were not The Ones, he wrote an oped saying, no, no, dont settle with them, they did it. And i think that this is the problem that youve got to be able to raise to his supporters. I also think when you look at the fact that you have a consistent entourage of holocaust survivors, antisemites, racists and autocracy, i dont care whos supporting him, how do you justify that this man is comfortable with that and his own actions. I do not think for the record that everybody that votes for Donald Trump is a racist. I do believe every racist will vote for Donald Trump. Hes using immigrants to go after minority voters, specifically black men, saying their taking black jobs. Is it effective . No, i think that when you look at the number of black that have voted for them, theyre not that much higher than they usually get with republicans. And i think that it is insulting when he says the black men, that they gravitate to him payoff his mug shots, which is rhetorically criminalizing black men. I think its insulting that he puts people up that have records from here back to new york and says that theyre The Ones that should be telling you to vote for. So i think that in many ways that the poll numbers theyre showing with black men are fantasies that will not go anywhere, and weve never had all blacks do anything. But the margins that he gets is no different than those that republicans have gotten in the past in many cases, and i think hes going to be more disappointed this time because of things like saying haitian immigrants are eating your cats and dogs, even black men that have whatever differences with the democrats dont want to see that kind of thing go, and he brought it to the president ial debate on a platform that millions of people were watching. Reverend al sharpton, thank you very much. And while it was pretty clear that vp Kamala Harris got the better of Donald Trump at the debate by calling out his fitness or office, Swing Voters still said they wanted more from her, specifically how she would be different than president biden. Joining us now in charlotte, North Carolina, Nbc News white House Correspondent mike memoli, Jeremy Peters is still with us as well. He has been speaking to Swing Voters. Mike, this event in charlotte, i hear its going to be a little bit earlier than expected. Whats she doing out there . Reporter The Way the Harris Campaign sees this moment, they finally have a little bit of runway. They have the convention behind them, the debate behind them. They want to build on what they feel is a lot of momentum coming from the debate to advance the case against Donald Trump at this moment. You can see that some of the paid advertising that they have been putting up, the first ad that they released was one in which he is making that almost closing argument, talking about the need to turn the page and present a more optimistic, joyful vision for the future. The newest ad they put out in the last few hours is one that focused on the Abortion Exchange between her and the former president. One they feel is especially powerful here in North Carolina. One of the reasons theyre so optimistic about turning this state from red to blue. But the biggest plan here is to just continue to ride momentum. The biden team before, the Harris Team now, knows how powerful a political Force Momentum is, and you can see that in. So conversations i was having before this rally be voters about how they feel the campaign is going, and what they saw Tuesday Night. Take a listen to that. Being able to have my first time voting be for like a black woman. Its really important to me, so i know like its my duty to ensure that the very first person that i elect is somebody who ill be proud to say, like, 50 years later thats who you i was able to elect into office. I think expresident trump showed who he really is, which isnt very intelligent, which isnt very caring of The American public. Certainly not prepared. Certainly not capable to form complete thoughts. Biden, he was a good president too. He passed the buck to her. Its her turn now. Its womens turn, and shes going to be it. And its going to be wonderful. Reporter so we have already heard what a big Applause Line so far today the debate has been. We have heard from Josh Stein, the candidate for governor in North Carolina. Heard from Governor Roy Cooper as well. Asking them how they felt about the debate, overwhelming reaction. Were going to wait and see what the Vice President has to say about. Use the argument on the Campaign Trail as well. You know there are a lot of people there when its so loud, you have to scream to be heard on a powerful microphone. Mike memoli, thank you very much. Jeremy, the headline of the latest the New York Times piece, pundits say harris won the debate. Undecided voters werent so sure. Explain. A lot of undecided voters and the few that there are. Lets be clear, this election is still going to be decided on a knifes edge. All the polling confirms that. And im told even some of the private polling that the campaigns have been looking at, the needle has not moved much. What people are ultimately looking for who are still on the fence is a reason to go to the polls for Kamala Harris. Im talking specifically about trump curious or former trump, Die Hard Trump supporters who are now uncomfortable with voting for him, but might do it again. They want to see her sell herself. What are you going to do for me, i think is what you heard most . Is it about policy or they look at her and say, shes a woman, black and indian woman. Is there a little like just underlying discomfort in that because we have never seen a woman in that position before, and do they need just to see her more, to hear her more, maybe not necessarily about specific policy but to see her in a president ial genera, atmosphere, milieu, im using all of these words incorrectly, to make them feel for comfortable with voting for her to be President Of The United States. Were not talking about this debate. Shes not talking about it. Shes not talking about how shes a woman. Right. But her voters may be feeling it. I think that she knows that in order to reach centrist voters, Swing Voters, she shouldnt talk about what she is in terms of her gender and her race. She should talk about what shes going to do as president , and thats why she needs to be out there more. To your question, people need to feel like they can trust her to govern. The thing i heard most in talking to voters is they want washington to not be broken anymore, for the next president to be able to deliver for them. Which is why the Debate Wasnt such a selling point. What Kamala Harris did really well, by The Way, was talk about how she sees a disastrous second trump term. She didnt talk a whole lot about what a Harris Term was going to be. Donald trump says there will be no third debate. He has put that up on his Social Media saying that he doesnt need to. Hes a Prize Fighter and he won. Without another debate. By The Way, that debate reached 70 Million people. A whole lot of people. How does she do that . Is it more Tv News interviews, please, say yes. I would hope so. Not just for our purposes. Editorial Board Interview . She has to get out there. The one attack that has been effective that trump and his allies have leveled at her is she has been hiding and shes afraid to answer questions. The rest of the stuff, crazy kamala. Its nonsense. Its not working. Trump knows that or hed be repeating it at nauseam. Well see if he does another debate. In the absence of that, its a good thing for her. She can go out there and basically continue to talk to voters on her terms. Which is the most controlled way to do it. The campaign is going to be putting her out in front of voters and smaller venues. Theyre also going to be putting her out in front of local news in various swing states. This is going to come down to not necessarily a national audience, but a couple of counties in a few swing states. Thats right. Jeremy peters, good to have you. Thank you for showing up in person. Weve got Breaking News out of fulton county, georgia, where Judge Scott Mcafee dismissed counts in the Election Interference case. Joining us now, msnbc legal correspondent, lisa rubin. What happened . What did he dismiss . Two counts as you noted. Both of them are counts that have parallels in federal law. One of them has to deal with Donald Trump signing a certification in a lawsuit that was filed in federal court in georgia. This is the Trump Versus Kemp case where he certified or verified all the facts were true as far as he knew it. The allegation was there was a conspiracy to file the allegation, even though john eastman, and Donald Trump allegedly knew that it was false. The other count has to do with documents that were supporting that case that were mailed in. The charge itself was like basically filing false documents with the court. Again, its a crime under georgia law, but its also a crime under federal law. So do they remain in federal court or are they dismissed out . They were dismissed because of the arguments with the federal law. They have to be charged in federal court with this stuff . Correct. How many counts remain . Many remain against Donald Trump. I was looking at the indictment earlier, and im looking at it now so hopefully our viewers will excuse me. Were there 19 counts . There are more than 30 counts of the indictment. There are other counts previously dismissed. Theres a lot. Were going to be in double digits, i think. So the case still stands, they havent dismiss the case out right but theres no Trial Date . No. In fact, not only is there not a Trial Date but the Georgia Court of appeal has an Oral Argument on december 5th. They will hear arguments from the Trump Team and other defendants that Fani Willis should not remain on the case. This is an appeal of Judges Decision over the winter to let Fani Willis remain on the case despite their efforts to disqualify her on the basis of her relationship with nathan wade. Lisa rubin, thank you very much for bringing us this Breaking News. A couple of counts dismissed, still many remain. Thank you. And republicans led by Donald Trump keep going after the Department Of Justice, claiming it is full of Deep Sate democrats who are trying to influence the election. Today, Attorney General Merrick Garland fought back, assuring the department that the ag, the Attorney General, has their back amid a wave of Quote Dangerous and outrageous attacks. Joining us now, Nbc News Justice And Intelligence correspondent, ken dilanian. So, ken, what did he say . Garland talked about the importance of insulating the doj in partisan influence. Garland first joined the department as a young prosecutor four decades ago. He said that tradition is under threat as never before. The biggest threat comes explicitly from the republican candidate for president who suggested if hes elected he will use the doj to go after his enemies. Donald trump spent years that the investigations were a partisan effort by democrats to frame him. Take a listen to what else garland said. Our norms are a promise that we will fiercely protect the independence of this department from political interference in our criminal investigations. Our norms are a promise that we will not allow this department to be used as a political weapon. And our norms are a promise that we will not allow this nation to become a country where Law Enforcement is treated as an apparatus of politics. He was speaking to u. S. Attorneys there from around the country. He got a big round of applause when he said the public servants of the Department Of Justice do not bend to politics and do not break under that pressure. A lot of people wish that Merrick Garland would have said things like this earlier and more often, but he said them very forcefully today. Ken dilanian, thank you very much, and joining us now, Nbc News senior Executive Editor for national security, david rohde, and you have information about russia and the campaign they were waging with american influencers. There was a separate event where a Doj Official spoke, and they essentially said more to come, that we havent seen The End of the russian influence operations. There was a very well documented case, americans being paid by moscow through a cutout. Russia will be doing more between now and november. China and iran as well. Who are these americans . Two americans that ran a Production Company based in tennessee. They thought they were being paid by a company. Its unclear, actually, what did they know, did they think they were being paid by some company or did they know the money was coming from russia . Thats a big question. They were funneling money or paying really popular right wing online Podcast Influencers who have big followers, they were giving them quite a bit of none. Benny johnson was one of them. You say that most of them seem unwitting. Did they have an idea that somebody knew what was going on . The two founders of the company, but in terms of Benny Johnson and influencers, they felt they were getting paid for doing interviews. They didnt realize they were getting paid to spread russian disinformation. Correct. This is how sophisticated its becoming. The people that were witting, is the Justice Department going to be charging them . They wouldnt say. Pointblank afterwards. That would be Election Interference and taking money from a foreign government. Yes, they said its an ongoing investigation. They cant comment. We are less than two months before the election, the Justice Department is obviously a bit nervy, you saw Merrick Garland speaking to employees. Why is he saying that stuff now . Ken was right. Its a question about why he didnt say this earlier. There is another contrast in this election. Donald trump sees Career Officials in the State Department who leak a story about him doing something improperly as a deep state, a terrible thing obstructing him. Garland says the Career Officials are heroes. These are people that are going to defend democracy. If they leak something that a democratic or republican president is doing thats wrong, thats good. The problem is what are americans going to think. Its hard to sell, you know, heroic Washington Bureaucrat to the public, but thats what garland was saying today. And garland or the Department Of Justice is saying that the attacks and the disinformation and the influence from foreign entities, russia, iran, china is only going to intensify in these next couple of months as we head to the election. David rohde, good to have you, thank you for joining us. As the Harris Walz Campaign sets out on a Battle Ground blitz, one poll in wisconsin is a Big Deal. Well get the numbers next. Joining us now, national Affairs Correspondent for the nation, john nichols, and Senior Editor and Elections Analyst at the cook political report, david wasserman. John, is this a Big Deal . Yeah, its a Big Deal. When you get over 50 in wisconsin, that always counts for something, and ill tell you why, of the last six president ial elections in wisconsin, four have been decided by under 25,000 votes. So wisconsin is always close. Thats something that everybody understands. But if you begin to open up somewhat of a margin, especially in the Marquette Poll that is generally seen as the best poll in the state, and The One thats most in tune with where the state is at, people do wake up. In fact, in wisconsin, this is big news. Dave, do you agree . Well, wisconsin is a close state. Obviously it was within about 23,000 votes in 2020, and the question is does trump see the same surge of white noncollege voters that was under represented in polls in 2016 and 2020. And even though wisconsin and michigan look like harriss best states of the seven in the core battleground, wisconsin is always going to be dicey, and shes going to need a bigger showing in the wow counties to offset the likely Trump Margin in western and northern wisconsin. Dave, theres still so many voters out there who are telling us and telling pollsters theyre undecided. They want to see more from Vice President Kamala Harris. How do you interpret wanting to see more . What does more mean . Well, yeah, there are more voters who want to know about Kamala Harris than Donald Trump. Nielsen says about 67 Million people tuned into the debate, which is less than half of the likely electorate were going to see this fall. The roughly 7 that remain undecided skew younger, a little bit more diverse, and a little bit more female than the electorate as a whole. That should suggest upside for Kamala Harris, but we all know they disapprove of the current administrations handling of the economy, they dislike trump personally but believe he did a better job managing the economy than she did. In the last late august poll, she was down six, when it came to who was doing a better job reigning in inflation. Im curious after this debate, what the numbers are going to show, as far as whether shes closed the gap on that question. Youre nodding your head. Look, were early in this campaign. The debate was really the start of the fall campaign. Theres simply no question that in late july and august, what Kamala Harris did was clean up the mess, right, to get the democrats back to a point where they were competitive in the Battle Ground states, maybe even a little ahead in some. And also to stop the erosion of support in some states that were considered battlegrounds. Harris has done that. She is now in very competitive position. Well see the play out of the debate, she may be in an even more competitive position. What were starting to see, and what we see in this wisconsin by marquette, again, the Law School there, which does very very good polling in wisconsin, is real movement, and this isnt just movement from where biden is at. This is movement from where harris was at. If she continues this, then, yeah, her position in wisconsin is going to be a strong one. Now, we Cant Guarantee that that will happen. Thats what we have to see over the coming weeks. 6 to 7 Million is half the electorate, but yeah, its still quite a few people who got a chance to see her, the most Viewer Ship in 16 years, according to abc news, thats when the number was 65 million. Who knows what the number is in terms of historic viewership. I dont have that off the top of my head. When youre looking at the numbers we have seen so far, and were going to wait until after the debate because things could change. Do you see movement in other states that you think is significant . We have already seen dramatic improvement for harris versus biden in tuesdays in particular, thats nevada and North Carolina. Georgia would be a close third. I think it speaks to the fact shes doing dramatically better with hispanic voters, shes still not at 2020 levels of biden, harris support, and that has shifted the dial a bit in nevada. Shes also energized black voters, who are 20 of the electorate. The Governors Race in North Carolina, which is going badly for republicans. The democrat, Josh Stein has opened a lead, airing a lot of ads, featuring republican Mark Robinson in his own exotic words on women and abortion, that may be having some Brand Impact on the republican party writ large, and the race is within a point or two there. I still think the closest states that consistently have been tied in the last month, are georgia and pennsylvania. And theyre also some of the biggest electoral prizes. Yeah, he said versions of, you know, women should keep their legs closed, and not get pregnant, blaming women for or seeming to blame women for down playing sexual assault. North carolina is an interesting state. Harris is there today. Shes in charlotte. Shes doing a second event a little bit later. The Charlotte Event is going to bring soon. We have seen here its taking the stage now. Were going to wait to see when she starts talking. Its not just North Carolina. Theres also georgia, arizona. All of these Sun Belt states are currently pretty close as well. Theres also now been talk, dave, about florida. Whats up with florida . Is florida even is there even a glimmer of hope that the democrats could potentially take back florida . Ill put it this way, if florida is genuinely competitive, then the election would be over in Harriss Favor because its a state that voters Ron Desantis by 18 points last time around. Democrats have not been putting together the coalition they need, particularly in South Florida and Central Florida among cuban and noncuban hispanics to make the Math Work statewide considering that theyre not really breaking in to other parts of the republican coalition elsewhere in the state. And look, the Abortion Referendum there is going to favor the pro Choice Side by a vast margin. We dont see reverse Coat Tails when it comes to the abortion referenda, could it help on the margins in terms of turnout, perhaps. Generally when you have a president ial race on the ballot, thats the chief turnout driver. Vice president harris has been saying her hellos and everyones excited, why dont we go in now and listen to a little bit of this speech from Vice President harris. Again, in charlotte, North Carolina. Can we that incredible hamilton for his incredible performance. I love anthony hamilton. Thank you. We have so many outstanding leaders here today, Including My Friend Governor Roy Cooper and your next Attorney General skpx here is your jeff jackson. Mayor lyles, the Council State candidates and all the leaders with us today, i thank you all, everyone, everyone here for taking the time and doing the work youre doing. Im wrong. Shes still doing her thank yous. John, i want to ask you more about wisconsin. Were going to go back in once she starts talking about the substance. Lets talk about what Donald Trump has whats been trailing him today. These are the comments he made that migrants are eating pets. Does that sort of stuff help him, the mite grant issue, those Imflam Toir allegations that are the not true . Im sorry, guys, were going to go right back in because shes talking about the debate. Here she is. It could not be more important. On Tuesday Night i talked about issues that i know matter to families across america. Like bringing down the cost of living, investing in americas small businesses, protecting reproductive freedom, and keep ing our nations safe and secure. But thats not what we heard from Donald Trump. Instead, it was the same old show. That same tired playbook that we have heard for years. With no plans for how he would address the needs of The American people, because its all about him, not about you. Well, folks, i said it then, i say it now. Its time to turn the page. Turn that page. [ applause ] to your point, america is ready for a new way forward we are ready for a new generation of leadership that is optimistic about what we can do together. Thats why republicans and democrats and independents are supporting our campaign. Over 200 people who worked for president george h. W bush, John Mccain and Mitt Romney have endorsed me for president. Dick cheney and Liz Cheney are supporting me as well. Because as they said, we have a duty citizens to put country above partisanship, and defend our constitution. And that is my pledge to you. I will always put country above party, and i will be a president for everyone. Boy, we got bugs in the system. Theres something wrong with that feed there. Once we get it sorted out, were going to go right back in. Im hoping that john nichols, my friend, is still with me. I hear you guys both are. Thank god i have the two of you. Never mind. Im going to go right back in. Its an opportunity for the economy so every american has an opportunity to own a home, to build wealth, to start a business. Its just one of those days. I bet well have it sorted in 3, 2 is it sorted . Im not getting anything. What would you do without us . I dont immigrant know. I can tell you flat out, and i had a lot of time to think about my answer. And it would play and it is playing very, very badly because the Upper Midwest, as i think dave would tell you, is a Place Wherer they are not very excited by incendiary language. Even the eneies tend to be a little more careful in how they address things. Its the nature of the state. So i think at this point, some of the things that trump is saying is not just long, they are a little bit too hot, too over the top for a state like wisconsin or minnesota or iowa. I think theres a lot of these Upper Midwest states, especially, but to be honest, dave can tell me better, my suspicion is there are very few states where its playing particularly well. Were going to hold on a sec. We have cameras working. Lets go back to Kamala Harris. The Work Ethic and the ambition to do that kind of work and just need to be seen and supported for what they are and what they do for all of us. An opportunity economy, we need to build the more housing in america. And so we are going to cut red Tape And Work with the private sector to build 3 Million new homes by The End of my first term. I have a plan to lower the cost living for americas families on erg from Health Care to groceries. Under my plan, more than 100 Million americans will get a Tax Break and thousands of dollars of your hardearned money will go back into your pockets, including 6,000 during the first year of a childs life. I will always put Middle Class and Working Families first. I grew up a Middle Class kid. Who saved up she was able to buy our first home. I understand how people work hard and have dreams and aspirations for their children. And need to be put first, understanding, again, when the Middle Class is strong, america is strong. Donald trump has a different plan. Just google project 2025. Donald trump will give billionaires and big corporations massive Tax Cuts and cut corporate taxes by over a trillion dollars, even as they pull in record profits. He will add more than 5 Trillion to the national debt. He intends to cut Social Security and medicare. He wants to impose a national sales tax. Which willst cost the average family nearly 4,000 more a year. And the top economists previewed our plans, they have reviewed them. Goldman sachs says my plan would grow our economy and his plan would shrink it. 16 nobel prizewinning economists say he would reignite Inflation And Moodys says he would ignite a recession by the middle of next year. You know, he talks a big talk, but when folks review the numbers, highly respected folks
