We already have had good polls prior to the debate. We are ahead in the national vote by two to three points. We are doing battle better in the battlegrounds. Who youre going to vote for the House And Senate is also trending in our direction. We have a huge financial advantage with volunteers and enthusiasm. This feels good. We are in better shape than they are and then the debate happened and we have already gotten a series of polls were she is ahead by an average of four points in polls taken after the debate show her gaining a point to two points so this is dragon in the right direction but we still have an election ahead of us and a lot of work ahead of us but i think we should feel that we have a much greater capacity to close strong and when this thing than they do, so i think we are favored and i am optimistic about what we are going to be able to do together in the coming months. Here is the thing. You have Cheney And Aoc endorsing Kamala Harris, the very definition of a broad coalition in Donald Trump, his own party saying it was an absolutely catastrophic Debate Performance. Karl rove <\/a>said you cannot even put lipstick on that pig so at this point why is this thing even remotely close, besides trumps base, which is not that big, how is it this close . Well, lets give it time. The american people only got to see this contrast between her Intelligence And Confidence and Grace And Power and His Ugliness just a few days ago, and we needed to see this. The american people needed to see it. That is why the campaign wanted this debate and why they wanted other debate because they think this contrast between her and him as the most powerful thing they can share with the american people about where we are headed that was very effective. Two days later i still was in awe of her performance in the preparedness and her ability because she has got a superpower, which is that she has done a better job of explaining who he is than any democrat over the last nine years. She has been incredible added and she was incredible added on tuesday and so i think that we should feel like this election in many ways is just beginning now and the polling favors us. We are in a good position and we have a far stronger campaign in the coming months but it really will come down to how hard our coalition works and the work that all these grassroots people have been doing the last 2. 5 years to push our performance and i will tell you the Vice President and Governor Walz really understand the centrality and importance of the grassroots supporters they have. Thats exactly right. The internet can be crazy but the problem here is that the republican nominee is crazy and that he and Jd Vance are pushing this. The only reason we are talking about this is the fact that they have amplified this because they think this works for them, and you made the point that even though it has been debunked there doubling down on it because this is the narrative they want. They dont care about the facts. They are increasingly addicted to these fake memes because, and again, this is the through line, Donald Trump wants people to fear the immigrants. This is the guy that launched his campaign coming down a golden escalator talking about the murderers coming in from mexico. They have runon caravans. They have run on the good people on both sides with the Tiki Torch folks and they are escalating number by focusing on these immigrants and the point of this is not the facts because they dont care what is true or not true. It is the cudgel theyre using to tell americans be afraid of these people and so again we have seen Donald Trump have one Big Lie after another, and this is this Years Version of it, and it is, i agree, both ugly and extremely dangerous. Victoria, i dont know what they teach up there at yale but Jd Vance also claims that america is not the most prosperous country in the world. He actually said it on cnbc where everyone there knows better and he blames this falsehood on immigrants. If you are the Harris Campaign, how do you respond to this . With the facts, with the pure facts. We know that immigration helps countries grow. 17 of our gdp is made up of immigrants. We know the labor they provide immigrants pay taxes and we are also talking about undocumented immigrants and these are immigrants that are not getting any services in return because of their legal status. We know there was a study by the congressional Budget Office in terms of because of the immigration we have in the country right now, we have seen an increase to gdp of 7 Trillion and actually a reduction in our deficit of 1 trillion.<\/a> I can go on rattling off the specifics but let me end with this, that immigrants are providing critical labor in terms of engineering, but also at the lower end when we are looking at Home Healthcare workers. 40 of our Home Healthcare workers <\/a>are immigrants. Think about our food supply system.<\/a> Everywhere you look, we could not run as a country if we did not have immigrants. At The End of the day those numbers again allow us to thrive as an economy. I will quote Donald Trump. Childcare is childcare and we have got to have childcare. The people who run, who occupy the most Childcare Related Jobs in this country are immigrants.
