Vice president Kamala Harris iS Preparing to visit the u. S. Southern border for the first time in more than three years. We do have a broken Immigration System and it needs to be fixed. President zelenskyy made the trip to Trump Tower this morning. We have a very good relationship and i also have a good relationship with President Putin and i think we can get it resolved very quickly. Zelenskyy knows that if trump is elected, the chances of american support go down dramatically. Ive been proud to stand with ukraine. I will continue to stand with Ukraine And Work to ensure ukraine prevails. We sat down for 25 minutes and we talked about one single topic, the economy. Donald trump has a history of taking care of very rich people and not really paying much attention to middleclass families. Kamala harris is a onewoman economic wrecking ball. Hes just not very serious about how he thinks about some of these issues. Something very special, youre going to love it. My new trump watches. Is getting very expensive to be a supporter of Donald Trump. Good evening. Once again i am stephanie Ruhle And Welcome to the nightcap. We are now just 39 does away from the election and the democratic nominee is leaning into the issue of immigration. Vice president Kamala Harris stopped at the Southern Border during the trip to battle ground arizona. She called for more investment in securing the border and reminded voters that it was her opponent who killed the Border Bill that wouldve done just that. Meanwhile, former President Trump was focusing on ukraine and is now promising to work out a deal to end the war. He met with President Zelenskyy at Trump Tower even as questions are growing about his support for the country. Earlier this week we heard both candidates weigh in with their plans on how they are going to boost the economy. While all that is happening, Mailin Voting is underway in 26 states. Lets bring in our nightcap. Msnbcs Alex Witt is hit here. Tom rogers joins us. He is now editor at large for this week. Christina greer is here, associate political Science Professor at Fordham University and joanna coles the daily Beast Chief Content officer. Im not going to go to the ladies first because tom, youre the only boy here. Very intimidating. It should be. In your mind, where do you think this race stands . I think it is close as could be but i think, has the momentum. I think the polls directionally are moving in the right direction, both nationally and Swing States, but it is all within the margin of error so im not sure how much the polls mean. I think she had a great week. I think that the release of the economic report, the speech on the economy, your interview, i think ill give her greater gravitas on the economic front which i think was an area she was suffering from. I think a big win that did not get that much attention, nebraska got resolved. She couldve won the blue wall if she had ended up not being able to win nebraskas second district. It couldve been all over if that was her path to victory through pennsylvania, michigan, wisconsin. She still has to win the second district in nebraska. I hope people are not taking that for granted because without that, she could still and up in Electoral College tie, and Inflation Numbers that came in today, the last three months came in at 1. 7 below in terms of the fedS Primary metric, under 2 and thats a big deal so taming inflation without the Labor Market cracking, no signs of it. The economy seems to be cruising into an Election Day in a way that could be helpful. With the Fed Cutting rates is going to get cheaper to borrow. What do you think is the biggest issue . I think the biggest issue is Donald Trump selling his new watches. Im very excited to get one. For 100,000. Well, that is the most expensive one, the gold one. I had breakfast this morning was someone who spent a couple of hours with trumpet Trump Tower yesterday and said he is very confident that he is winning, the friend that met him and talk to him at some length said that they went through the polls. The polls are pretty much split, and Donald Trump feels very confident that hes going to pull through on this and i think he is looking at his watch and thinking trumpets time trump is back in the white house. His whole brand is to project confidence, isnt it . Of course, and it has turned out to be very successful. I think we still underestimate the fact that he played Abbas On Television and in real life we have trump stakes, trump water, trump champaign, trump university, none of those works. But in a way, pharmaceutical ads are full of people in a white coat to say im not a doctor but i play one on television, and people strangely find it authoritative. I think this is the most extraordinary point because i go through this day in and day out especially when you think about trumps base voters. His core voters are bluecollar workers who trump connected with on an emotional level but in terms of policy, it was the biden administration who delivered yet trump has hung on to those voters and others and he continues to pull better than Kamala Harris does on issues related to the economy. We are rolling into a strong economy yet Donald Trump, bankrupt six times, his Boss Persona and i agree, it is a character on tv, plays for him. Right. He is a charismatic character. Hes very charming even if you dont like what he says. To paraphrase lbj if you can convince the porous white man hes better than the , you can pick hiS Pockets all day long so for a certain segment of the Population Trump taps into this racist, xenophobic, anti semitic all the thingS People need to feel that they are better than others so that his work for him. He wants it to work again. Im cautiously optimistic about this race in the sense that democrats won the popular vote. Weve seen it time and time again. It is just, will they won the Electoral College vote. Some people can never pull a lever for a woman. We are one of the last few democracies that have not had a woman in power. There are many people who could not pull a lever for a woman of color. We know white women do not vote for the democratic candidate. Theyve only done so in 1964, lbj in 1996, second Term Bill clinton so we cant just bank on the female vote. They did not come out for obama they did not come out for Hillary Clinton. So hopefully something with this amazing rollout that weve seen, Tim Walz has been a fantastic Addition Tapping into some of this joy sentiment trying to reverse some of this Vitriolic Cesspool Donald Trump has excavated these past few years but it works in the popular vote. Im hopeful that in wisconsin, and michigan, in pennsylvania, north carolina, virginia, arizona, nebraska even in florida, you name it, im hoping it will turn that tide. Doesnt Tim Walz also cool this idea that is not rooted in truth there, is just so woke that democrats are so progressive when she is flanked by Coach Walls its hard to make that argument. Let me also say something i am encouraged by, the Forbes Study that came out the has suggested every time since 1984 that the S P 500 starts one way on August 1 and then at The End of october, it is ahead, the incumbent party has won. Im encouraged because i was looking at the numbers. August 1st. The S P 500 was at 5446. Today, it closed at 5738. Thats a huge swing. If it keeps going that way, you know, all the polls aside when you talk about the economy, that has been the most accurate predictor. Very interesting article in Politico Today about pennsylvania, a key state where biden pulled strongly and obviously performed very strongly, catholic, complicated in terms of abortion for Kamala Harris does appear, to your point, much more west coast. It is a much more you know, they have much more problems. Actually in some of the more rural areas, abortion is still very much a sticking point. Unfortunately in pennsylvania, republicans have registered a lot more people this cycle then democrats have, and there is an old state and, is not doing well among older voters, particularly old white men. Hopefully, walls can help with that, but going to the issue of trump, the one thing we know is hes got a ceiling. Even in the Swing States, hes got a 47, something 48 ceiling so the only way he wins is if there is somebody on the ballot who takes his opponent down below 50 , and while we may have the first Woman President of the united states, we may also have the same Woman Spoiler who killed it for Hillary Clinton in 2016, and that is Jill Stein is on the ballot in all the Swing States, and when you look at what an independent Thirdparty Candidate takes, it is always one to 2 of the vote. You have Cornel West on wisconsin and north carolina. You cant dismiss in Swing States with a margin could only be one or 2 , that these candidates could drain one or 2 . Thats going to come right out of, was hide and i am extremely concerned that there is just not enough focus on if you vote for thirdparty you are voting for Donald Trump. Theyve got to get on that with a digital targeted campaign right away. We know its not going to be Rfk Junior because hes too busy taking selfies and sending them to journalists. I think we need to remember though everyone goes to the polls for economic issues. Latinos dont go for immigration. But people dont go for social rights and social justice. It is economic issues and what we have seen is that when abortion is on the ballot democrats win because that is an economic issue so hopefully the democrats can start to chip away at not just women but also helping men understand that this is an economic issue. Back to joannes Boss Persona point, i interviewed Kamala Harris about the economy and in the last couple of days i said she needs to get out there and talk more about it and just this morning Joe Scarborough said its not about policy, its about how people feel but its not about the 85 page policy. It is about her getting out there as a boss and having people see that because people who dont know in the last two weeks, i keep meeting with different Wall Street guys. They say but what has she run and i say what has not run into the ground. Exactly right but its also about celebrity and Donald Trump has extraordinary celebrity. I think you are right when you said that he has charisma. I think he has less charisma than he did. I think he is much more impacted and he has lost his sense of humor. He used to be very funny, you said charming, and thats gone. He was much wittier. Four years ago, his nicknames now he brought character to politics in a way that we just have not seen before because [ inaudible ] i do think the thing we have all underplayed is the fact that he has literally been the victim of two attempted assassinations. Im sure that has had an impact. First of all im sure 90 of people who have been shot at get posttraumatic stress disorder. Usually a month to two months after it happens. You get to the initial shock of it. Is not so traumatized that he can launch a Crypto Exchange and start selling coins and watches. We dont know that actually when he is at home if he is rocking back and forth wondering if he actually wants to do this. The fact that he announced this week he was not going to be playing golf on this of course is was also interesting. As Andrew Sullivan has said, this choice iS Pretty easy this year. We have a mentally ill candidate, and those things may have added to his mental condition. We do have a mentally ill candidate versus the same candidate and voters ought to make that choice accordingly and there are a lot of issues on policy. There are a lot of things we can talk about in terms of the difference between the biden Administration And Trump administration but his attitude, Outlook And Conduct do not suggest somebody who is healthy in a mental state. Can we go back to thiS Point joanna just made, the Celebrity Factor . You and i both covered the debate. She has it. The one thing i take away at the debate is it is the first time i saw another politician beat him in the business of television. She performed and captivated All Of Us flawlessly. Should she have herself out there more not just at rallies and events, but, and im not saying sitting down to interviews to get grilled but let people see her swagger because she has got it. She absolutely has it and i think that is one of her major strengths and we talk about our candidates in terms of Trump Lack of character. She exudes character, as well. I love the fact that she was a badass Attorney General. One of my favorite lines is i know who Donald Trump is. Shes got to do more of that. We did need to get her on the economy and you did a great job of doing that but i think just getting her personality out there, showing that she is a boss, that she can handle anything. This is what all the international leaders are saying right now about what they have seen from her. We have heard it all echoed through United Nations that she is somebody who can handle pretty much anything. Shes going to think it through carefully, intelligently, and shes going to come up with some sort of an answer or, say lets work together on this. What do you think about her going to the border now leaning into immigration because Donald Trump occupies the whole Immigration Lane and talks about it day in and day out in much of what he says is not true. Four of his children are children of immigrants but he never mentions that. He doesnt mean those kind of immigrants. Right. His idea of american this is whiteness. We need to close the border. Thats not what needs to happen. We know we are a nation of immigrants. We know weve always had difficulties incorporating immigrants in overtime. No immigrant has come here and been welcomed with over open arms. Its never been the case. This is an issue i think is a moderate issue for there are a lot of different colors of blue and the democratic party so people like the idea. Many people like it in theory but in practice, when its at school or in my neighborhood, what do jobs look like and obviously with Donald Trump trying to create a Wedge Issue between africanamericans and immigrants, that is an old trope. People are struggling with it in their town or the city, it does not mean they are xenophobic or racist and democrats can start talking and to those communities and saying i get it. Heres the thing. All politics is local so you have to make sure that in, lets just say, a Manhattan Conversation may not even look like a Long Island conversation. This is why i think the democrats slowly but surely are getting better surrogates to help articulate what does i dont like the phrase migrant crisis. Its not a crisis. We have people who are coming. We need to ask ourselves what foreign policies are we doing that are causing so many people that need to come to the united states. Thats a separate conversation but i do think Tim Walz is a great articulator. He is giving this data, uncle, Grandpa Vibe to help us to tangle some of these complicated issues especially for White Americans who are like, im not racist but i do have some questions and concerns. We had a very good piece in the beast this week by Adria Wenner about what he called the shy trump voter concern. People just dont want to admit it. They know hes a bad guy. They know that they should vote for something that is about a more coherent society, but actually when it comes to it, they feel that on the economy and on immigration, he is their guy. They just dont want to admit it , so they are shy trump voters and i think they dont show up in the polls. There was a survey that came out this week that said 65 of people now dont feel safe talking about politics at work and i think this all plays in. The 21st century Bradley Effect where as he always said, im the Silent Majority so we are seeing a 2. 0 version of that. You cant forget he cut peoples taxes. That expires next year and there are scores of people that are going ahead politics, i dont know what any of this is but i got my taxes cut. I think immigration is over as an issue because i dont think undecided voters in the Swing States are the ones who are going to decide immigration. If you are voting on immigration, youre already decided youre voting for Donald Trump. I dont really think that issue is up for grabs. I think it iS Pocketbook and personality. TaxeS Play into that. Inflation plays into that, the state of the economy, Mortgage Rates going down, everything, is saying about economic policy in terms of starting Small Businesses, housing opportunities i think those are the issues in The End of the day with undecided voters that it comes down to. Alex, do you believe there undecided voters or is it really about Voter Turnout . I think there are a few undecided voters and to say that youre going after the undecided voters, i mean, there are so few but its about turnout. I want to add on to what you are saying. Dont you think the issue of abortion, and i hate even phrasing it that way, the issue of a woman being able to choose what she does with her body, i think that is something that is going to generate a lot of women to get out to the polls and i think sometimes democratS Put the wrong way because they will say something about a womans right to have an abortion and i might just say a womans right to decide what she does with her body. It is also an economic issue, though. Youre adding someone else to your family. I must be able to make this choice economically whether or not i can do this. I mean, the women who have to leave state after state. She did do great this week on abortion that really showed how serious she was because there is no way you can restore roe v. Wade legislatively unless you are willing to get rid of the Filibuster Rule in the senate and she said she was open to that and that showed a degree of commitment to this issue. It would be polarizing as hell. It would probably make sure there was deadlock in congress on every other issue but if the democrats hold the senate and she really wants to follow through on this issue, she showed she was tough enough in her thought to do that. Christina said something that has me scratching my Head Joanna when you said there are many women in this country throughout history who are just not going to pull the lever for a woman. Earlier this week Donald Trump got out there and said women are worse off. Theyre more depressed. They are poorer in the last four years. I will be the protector of women. Do you think there are lots of women in this country, traditional women, who are going im not voting for a woman. I dont feel safe with a woman. The man in office, even that guy, is a protector. I think even his wife doesnt believe hes a protector which is why she has moved cities and states. Baron is now at new york university. She has moved back to Trump Tower so she doesnt want anything to do with him but again he played this kind of big successful man on television and most people are not as engaged as everybody around this table. Theyre not living it and breathing it like we are and i do think there are lots of undecided voters. I meet people all the time jose oh, i dont have enough information yet. They literally say that. Every morning i tune into a broadcast that Mark Halperin runs and youd be amazed at how many smart, articulate people are still saying they dont know who theyre going to vote for. You just said you talk to people on Wall Street who were like yes, but i dont believe them. They really are just looking for every possible reason [ inaudible ] they are shy trump voters the night, because they wont admit it. There saying they dont have enough information because the Daughter And Wife and educated son is saying are you kidding me and that man im talking to is going well i just know im not going to get a well tax. It is the mental gymnastics we see people perform every single time there is a Woman Or Person of color at the top of the ticket. Picking up the Donald Trump Talking Points i dont know her policies. Will Donald Trump, what are your policies or shes done nothing as vp. Im sorry, what is the role of the vp. Can you list what Mike Pence is gone has done or Dan Quayle . When we come back, days away from the first Vice President ial debate on what we can expect from tim Walz And Jd vance and more of my exclusive interview with Vice President harris when the 11th Hour continues. Nothing brings us together like egglands best eggs. Always so fresh and delicious. Plus, superior nutrition. For us, its eggs any style. As long as theyre the best. Egglands best. Its time. Yes, the time has come for a fresh approach to dog food. Everyday, more Dog People are deciding its time to quit the kibble and feed their dogs fresh food from the farmers dog. Made by vets and delivered right to your door precisely portioned for your dogs needs. Its an idea whose time has come. Rules and Jd Vance will Face Off in the Vice President ial debate. We are here to break down what to expect. The fact is that Jd Vance is an intelligent man. Hes got a yale law degree, right . And great eyeliner. That, too. I read something that Tim Ryan who debated him twice in 2022 when they were running against Each Other for senate and he said the fact is the guy is smart and we know that he can articulate thoughts better than Donald Trump can. Donald trump goes and leathers and uses very elementary language and says the same thing over and over again then gets mixed up because its going to be looking for sharks and electric batteries off a boat but i think its going to be an interesting debate. I think Jd Vance is going to bring it. Hes going to do a better job than we anticipate. I dont underestimate Tim Walz, but tim is going to have to hold his feet to the fire. If i am walz, i start the debate by saying Jd Vance and i are in complete agreement that trump utterly failed to deliver on his economic popular is in. I dont think we need to debate any further. Boom. Thats not the only thing happening next week. Eric adams. What are we in for . We are in for a long road. I dont see Eric Adams resigning anytime soon. But its like whos running new York City at thiS Point with the amount of people being investigated . To be fair, weve had a lot of open positions at the top. Commissioners are resigning like rats jumping off the titanic however we cannot underestimate the thousands of dedicated new York City government employees who keep the city running so it is always frustrating because the citizens of new york was out when there is chaos at the top. There is always a lack of leadership when that happens. However, we have dedicated employees who actually know how to run these agencies and we will keep the ship moving. It would be nice, though, to have a mayor who is completely focused. How serious are these charges . Listen, i wouldnt want them. However, i dont know, and this is where we debate on my podcast, whether or not voting new yorkers, of which there are a very small percentage of the voting eligible population the others to turn out for municipal elections, whether or not they are paying attention. This iS Paid to play. Sadly, Corruption And Scandal like this has become very commonplace. After having Donald Trump, why would Eric Adams resign . In new York State politics we have a long history. It doesnt mean its okay. However he keeps talking about pocketbook issues. Did you possibly defraud tax players. Payers. Thats going to be a complicated narrative to present to voters but Eric Adams can say why would i resign of the Man Running for the presidency is already convicted. Is going to literally play the trump card. Why wouldnt you . So this is also the thing. We are running up against the clock on November 5th if Donald Trump somehow wins this election. We do know we will have a turnover in the Sd And Y in the Eastern District in this case very well just go away with so Eric Adams is going to bide his time as long as he can. These are very serious allegations. We are having raids on top aides and deputy mayors. It is embarrassing for the city of new york. It is a position we hoped not to be in. Its a position many of us thought we would be in if we elected Eric Adams as mayor of new York City. All right, somebody else is having a very difficult week. What is your take on the dd situation, where are we headed . Are you referring to his cellmate, sam bankmanfried . Can you imagine the two of them there in the metropolitan Detention Center . We have done a lot of reporting on this, a lot of it disturbing. About three months ago we ran a report by two of our excellent reporters about what a bully he was at work and actually, i spoke to one of the very senior executives who worked with him who had been very successful in a very wellknown company and had been very nervous about going to work for him because she had heard, you know, stories. One of her arrangements with the contract was that he was not allowed to call her between 11 00 at night and 5 00 in the morning because that is when she was sleeping but that is when actually he gets going, so he goes to bed at 5 00 in the morning or at least at that time , she was actually running it. She, like a normal person was asleep between 11 and five and he was out clubbing and she said that she knew all sorts of stuff was going down but she did not have this you know, she did not have this insight but the bullying that was going on was terrible and in fact we have another piece coming up which i think iS Posting now about someone who went to a party and quickly realized she was being Drugs Dragon passed out and went to the local hospital and it was clear that they were very familiar with this happening at his house and that this was not the first time this had happened. What really bugs me about this is the fact you are seeing a lot of people who talked about it and they knew it so before taking a job she had to put parameters in place to keep herself safe. It sounds like a Harvey Weinstein Thing again. Why is this happening . Why do we continue to allow this kind of thing to happen . Celebrities give them air cover. This was only a year ago that he launched his Culture Collection on the steps of the met gala and there he is with anna winter. There are the pictures with leo dicaprio. There are the pictures with aston kircher. He talked about hiS Parties. Weve got to go to commercial. Were going to talk about it still during the commercial and youre going to wish you were still here. When we come back its time for mvps. We will be right back. Be right. Qunols extra strength, high Absorption Magnesium helps me get the full benefits of magnesium. Qunol, the brand i trust. Its time for everybodys mvp. Alex, yours . Hoda kotb. I think she made a huge impact on society across the board but for women i think she said in an example. This is a woman who became a mother later in life and she said look, im at the crest of my wave. Im here at the top and im going to step aside and focus on my children and my mom and i really respect her. Whos going to give up a position on the today show, please. I say the entire wnba. The amount of money theyre bringing in the cities, the amount of excitement they have from families and tickets are still affordable in most places. Its going to be a Brandnew Generation and i love seeing women at the top of their game. You know, its not just about sports anymore. Were having hard conversations about Gender And Race and pay equity and what it means to be a female athlete in the female businesswomen and people are just taking charge and im excited. Number one, Stephanie Ruhle forgetting the interview of the week. Number two, President Zelenskyy. All the Heads Of State were here in new york this week. He dominated. He showed what we need to do to continue to fight for democracy around the world. We have an election here supportive of our own pro Democracy Candidate but he stood up to the world and made us remember there is something far more important that many of the domestic issues we rankle about. I continue to be intrigued by melania. My countdown is a countdown to her book being published on october the eighth. Im trying to get hold of a copy without having to pay for it. Do you really think Theres Something extraordinary in there . It should be. There is a discussion in there about nude photos and im hoping libraries in the florida decide to ban it. Okay, my mvp of the week is mark cuban. He officially endorsed Kamala Harris and he didnt just say she has my vote and post a picture. Heres why i think his Celebrity Endorsement is different. He came out swinging. The one on podcasts. He went on Fox News and made the economic case for businesspeople to Support Harris but the most interesting thing he said this week was on twitter where he talked about what the Mainstream Media really is and he said its the right. The biggest tv new shows on fox. The top 10 podcasts have a bunch of rightleaning shows. Sinclair broadcasting has more Tv Stations than anyone. So, Conservative Media is Mainstream Media for so for all the criticism about Mainstream Media, look closely. A whole lot of it is right wing. That is it for us. We are going to take a quick break. I absolutely loved having you here. When we come back im not letting you leave just yet. Im going to share more of my Oneonone Interview with the Vice President when the nightcap continues. Nt when the nightcap continues. [suspenseful music] trains. [whoosh] trains that sense what isnt on the schedule. Trains that use the power of Dell Ai and intel. To see hundreds of miles of tracks. [vroom] [train horn] [buzz] clearing the way, [whoosh] so you arrive exactly where you belong. Ok, ready . One more. 1, 2, and 3. Cute not so fast, The General is coming with you. For a great low rate, go with The General. Before i let you go tonight i want to share more of my interview with Vice President Kamala Harris. Can i ask you about tariffs because you just mentioned it. Its not just one company. Donald Trump Sort of Big Idea is broadbased tariffs across the board. You and many others have said that would be not only disastrous but it would be a direct tax on the american consumer. It would be a Sales Tax on the american people. Independent economists have already measured this. The Sales Tax of doing a 20 tariff on all imports he is described would be a 20 Sales Tax in essence on basic necessities for the Average American worker, Average American family totaling almost 4000 a year. That is no small matter. Here in pittsburgh when im talking to a group of folks who live here and work here and when they hear it might be 4000 more a year for them look, People Cant afford that. Tariffs are not unique to former President Trump. President biden has tariffs in place and is looking to potentially implement more. Where do you come out on this . Well, part of it is you dont just throw around the idea of tariffs across the board and not aS Part of the problem with Donald Trump. Frankly and i say this in all sincerity, hes just not very serious about how he thinks about some of these issues and one must be serious and have a plan and a real plan that is not just about some Talking Point Ending in an exclamation at a political rally, but actually putting thought into what will be the return on the investment, what will be the economic impact on everyday people and when you look at my plans, you will see what those benefits will be. 25,000 down Payment Assistance for firsttime homebuyers. Do you know what that means . You are creating the ability of that working person to build intergenerational wealth, doing the work of the 6000 child tax credit, doing the work of a 15,000 Tax Deduction for first time Small Businesses, startups. It is a real plan because right now and again its about paying attention to the detail and being serious about it. Im serious about my enthusiasm for Small Businesses and my belief in what they will do aS Part of americas economic engine. Also looking at the fact that right now the Tax Deduction is 5000. Nobody in 2024 is going to start a Small Business with 5000. So, im extending it to 50,000 Tax Deduction for startups to generate the Generation And Ambition of the ideas that are present and among us but need the fuel to be able to actually achieve the goal. HiS Plan is not serious when you laid out like that but a seriouS Problem over the last two years has been inflation. Luckily, it is cooling but prices are still high. You said you want to take this on my going after those who gauge engage in Price Gouging but as somebody who supports free markets, who is a capitalist, how do you go after Price Gouging without implementing Price Controls because once you get in the zone, people start to get worried in the say i dont know what she stands for. So, just to be very frank, i am never going to apologize for going after companies and corporations that take advantage of the desperation of the american people and as Attorney General i saw this happen in the midst of an emergency extreme Weather Event or the pandemic were those few companies, not the majority, not most, but those few companies that would take advantage of the desperation of people and checkup prices. Yeah, im going to go after them. Yes, im going to go after them and that iS Part of a much more comprehensive plan on what we can do to bring down the cost of living including housing, including the everyday needs of the american people. I want to ask you about a little job in a big job. The first one, just a Fact Check because your opponent because your opponent every day seems to be talking about this so i just want to ask you yes or no. At any point in your life have you served two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a Sesame Seed Bun working at mcdonalds . Yes or no. Thats it. I have, but it was not a small job. Then let me ask you about a big job. To your point if you dont mind before you get to the big job, part of the reason i even talk about having worked at mcdonalds is because there are people who work at mcdonalds in our country who are trying to raise a family. I worked there as a student. I was a kid who worked there trying to raise families trying to pay rent on that in part of the difference between me and my opponent includes her perspective on the needs of the american people and what our responsibility then is to meet those needs. To the big job, you have laid out policy in great detail. But, the economy is an unpredictable beast. You are running for a job that takes extraordinary instinct and guts. What is the last time you had to make a Gut Decision . This year is very prescribed, is very controlled. Yeah, probably the biggest that decision i have made most recently is to choose my running mate. Yeah. There were lots of incredible candidates and ultimately that came down to a Gut Decision. I know im out of time but then i just want to ask you a question from my gut because today we are talking about the economy and people dont think often about reproductive rights being an economic issue, but it is. A Womans Ability to plan her future, her education, her life. Today and in the last few days, Donald Trump keeps talking about it and how in overturning roe v. Wade he helped women. He protected women. He says they are miserable today, they are poorer today, they are more vulnerable today. He said he will be the protector of women if elected. Can you respond to that . So, Donald Trump is also the person who said women should be punished for exercising a decision that they rightly should be able to make about their own body in the future. So, i think we would all agree that as a result of that perspective that he has about women, he also then chose three members of the United States Supreme Court who did as he intended, undid the protections of roe v. Wade and now, in state after state is the laws being passed that do punish women. Laws that most recently, a heartbreaking story resulted in a young woman dying, a mother of a sixyearold. Heartwrenching stories, and that is for the listener, much less their family. So look, i think the thing about Donald Trump is that you know, i dont think the women of america need him to say hes going to protect them. The women of america need him to trust them. Can we trust you . Yes. Yes. I am not perfect, but i will tell you, im always going to put the needs of the people first. Madam Vice President , thank you for your time today. Thank you. Thank you.
