Mt. Pleasant easement to be finalized in January December 20, 2020TUFTONBORO — Steve Wingate and Steve Scapicchio, Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Conservation Commission, respectively, met with the Board of Selectmen (BOS) on Dec. 7 to give notice that pending Town Counsel's approval, the Mt. Pleasant conservation easement will be finalized in January. The BOS approved the easement, which is made possible in part with cooperation with the Wolfeboro/Tuftonboro Land Bank (a certified trust), on Oct. 7. The easement will help prevent erosion on the Class VI portion of Northline Rd, a benefit to 19 Mile Brook, provide a parking opportunity for the public at the end of the Class V section of the road, and offer a hiking opportunity that is rewarded with extensive mountain views. The Commission applied for an LCHIP grant, and their effort was rewarded with a contribution of $75,000.
