View Comments LANSING – A driver was arrested after fleeing from police and crashing into several cars at a southwest Lansing intersection on Wednesday afternoon. Three people were taken to a hospital following the series of crashes at Waverly and Jolly roads, which began after Michigan State Police stopped a 37-year-old driver for a code violation, state police said in a news release. The driver, who did not have a driver's license, sped away as troopers were re-approaching the vehicle, nearly running over a trooper who had just arrived, police said. The driver sped north on Waverly and tried to slip between vehicles stopped at the intersection, striking three of them before losing control and colliding with a tree.
