WAYLAND — At the Wayland Free Public Library, they're calling it the "Great Baked Potato Caper of 2021." Baked russets have been accumulating on the front lawn of the library on Concord Road (Rte. 126) and leaving staff members mystified. On Monday, Library Director Sandy Raymond discovered the first one while taking her regular stroll around the building. She thought to herself, "How bizarre," before carrying on. "Then a couple days later, I noticed another potato," said Raymond. "And I was like, 'Is that the same potato? Did it move?'" A quick check confirmed it was new, as the initial one was still where she'd last spotted it.
