Animal volunteers say miscreants who race bikes post-sunset kill strays; FIR filed
In yet another case of random cruelty against strays in the city, animal volunteers from Kharadi have been spurred to register an FIR due to rising accidents and deaths of the animals in the area. Having probed the issue themselves initially, they allege that the deserted road is often frequented by young boys racing and rash driving — the cruel disregard these riders have for the animals is beyond their comprehension. The volunteers have dealt with six road accidents involving strays in the last six weeks, which is the highest it has ever been in that area. Increased patrolling in the area to catch the culprits and punish them appropriately is what is needed, Vitthal Nagar volunteers and residents asserted.
