New information is being uncovered regarding the dialogue between Nova Scotia’s Emergency Management Office and the RCMP during last year’s mass murders that began in Portapique and ended just outside of Halifax. CBC News obtained documents through a freedom of information request revealing the police force and EMO had discussions about sending out an emergency alert on the morning of April 19, 2020. According to the public broadcaster, the records show officials were discussing the possibility of sending an alert shortly after 8 a.m.
