A statement issued online by the State Council said: "On Tuesday, May 25, 2021, the State Council Education and Research Committee hosted Sheikh Salim Saeed Hamed Al Fannah Al Araimi, Chancellor of the National University of Science and Technology, and a number of university officials, within the framework of the committee’s study on the reality of technology-based policies and legislation for long distance learning based on technology and ways to develop it in the Sultanate."
