View Comments A Navarre teenager has been charged with murder after authorities say a plot she and a friend hatched to steal a man's car turned deadly when the man defended himself and shot both of the teens, killing one of them. Jennifer Elizabeth Marie Broxson, 18, was arrested last week and charged with second-degree felony murder in the Oct. 22, 2020, death of 16-year-old Allison Marie Dejaynes. Broxson and Dejaynes were accomplices in a plot to carjack a man who they met online, Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson said at a press conference Monday. The teenagers arranged to meet the man in person and after he drove them to the Simmons River Fishing Pier off U.S. 90 in Milton, they attacked him with a stun gun, pepper spray and a hammer as they tried to steal his car, according to Broxson's arrest report. The man tried to fight off the teenagers with a fold-out baton from his glove box and when that failed, he pulled out a handgun and fired at them, the report states.
