NCHSAA, State Board of Education make exception to athletic eligibility for students delaying EOC tests Tags: By Nick Stevens, HighSchoolOT managing editor Chapel Hill, N.C. — The N.C. High School Athletic Association Board of Directors and the State Board of Education have made an allowance to student-athletes regarding academic eligibility for the spring semester. NCHSAA Commissioner Que Tucker notified member schools on Friday morning that the board of directors passed an amendment to its academic eligibility rules regarding state-mandated End of Course tests. "As a result of students being given the option to delay taking the End of Course tests until Spring 2021, or even as late as Summer 2021, the State Board of Education is allowing the NCHSAA to adopt and implement a reasonable waiver," Tucker wrote to the membership.
