Express airfreight volumes, strengthened by e-commerce shipments, are expected to outgrow general air cargo volumes by 2041. Pre-pandemic express volumes accounted for roughly 17% of overall cargo volumes, Airbus recently reported in its Global Market Forecast 2022 (GMF22) published in July. However, by 2041, express shipments are forecasted to account for 25% of overall volumes.
