Rushton is one of 14 telecommunicators who work for the West Central Joint Dispatch Center, which handles all 911 calls for Morgan, Greene and Calhoun counties. They also handle radio traffic for law enforcement, fire and emergency services agencies in the counties, and serve as backup for first responder communications in Brown and Macoupin counties.
