The government has launched a single-window electronic service portal in its effort to turn the country’s customs system paperless.
The Department of Customs says the plan conceptualised in 2013 has been implemented now.
Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel launched the system during a function organised on the occasion of the International Customs Day on Tuesday. Speaking in the function, the minister said the country’s customs administration had reached an international standard with the new system.
Meanwhile, the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control, Plant Quarantine and Pesticide Management Centre, and Department of Livestock Services also began their services through the system on Tuesday.
