Nestor Vasquez, who was one of the founding members of the party in 1973, a key player in the creation of Belize Telecommunications Limited and a broadcast television pioneer passed away. The United Democratic Party leadership expressed its sorrow and announced they would be flying their flag at party headquarters at half-mast.

The former owner of Tropical Vision/Channel Seven succumbed this afternoon at the Belize Medical Associates where he was admitted in a coma after he slipped and hit his head inside his house over the weekend.
