Very pertinent, Chris: âWill the tens-of-thousands of middle-class teenagers who poured out onto the streets in support of Greta Thunbergâs call for action on Climate Change, really be willing, as young adults, to give away all hope of living as their parents lived? âDo they really see their fathers, brothers, cousins and boyfriends giving up their cars, their double-cab utes, their SUVs? âAre they willing to abandon the dream of one day attaining the blissful suburban security they grew up in?â because, having squandered all the easy-to-extract oil and messed up the global climate system [via emissions], present-day adults are now leading the charge off the cliff of financial ruin. And there is NO POSSIBILITY of young people having ANY of the luxuries their parents enjoyed for several decades.
