New Binghamton Crime Intelligence Center to Open in April The 2,900-square-foot facility is being developed in the former city fire department headquarters on State Street. State government will provide $500,000 in computer hardware, software and other equipment for the intelligence center. It will have five times the space of the current unit located nearby in the basement of the building. The Binghamton intelligence center is one of ten such operations operated by the state in partnership with local police agencies. In a news release, Mayor Richard David said the facility "will be the regional nerve center for law enforcement intelligence and multi-jurisdictional crime fighting."
