(WCSC) - With the COVID-19 pandemic leading to island-wide closures, parking restrictions and new beach regulations across the Lowcountry, local businesses and organizations say their efforts to keep free beach access are ramping up in 2021. Charleston Beach Foundation Director Myra Jones said they are pushing on a local and statewide basis for free parking and cutting down on the number of restrictions towns can place on beach visitors.
