Better Basket, a new grocery at 143 Front St. in Wilmington, could have a soft opening in just a few weeks. Workers are putting some final touches on the interior and exterior of the building that most recently housed Farmin' on Front and owners are working to complete the permitting process. “We are getting closer,” said Joseph Allen, one of the owners. Better Basket is planned as a full-service grocery focused on local produce grown in the Carolinas, where possible. In addition to meats, fruits and veggies, look for a salad bar and prepared foods like sandwiches and wraps.
