New MCU group addresses cost-sensitive and space-constrained applications Renesas Electronics Corporation has expanded of its 32-bit RA2 Series MCUs with 48 new RA2E1 Group MCUs. Based on the 48MHz Arm Cortex-M23 core, the MCUs are entry-line, single-chip devices with up to 128KB code flash and 16KB SRAM memory. The MCUs support a comprehensive operating voltage range of 1.6V to 5.5V and a great variety of packages such as LQFP, QFN, LGA, BGA and WLCSP. They give optimised combinations of excellent performance, ultra-low-power consumption, innovative peripherals and small package options. These characteristics make the devices excellent for cost-sensitive applications and other systems needing high performance and low-energy consumption in space-constrained applications. The new MCUs provide an upgrade path with hardware and software scalability, so they are the ideal entry point into the broad line-up of the company's RA family.
