PEORIA — When a Northwest Peoria housing development was created, it came with a caveat: Eventually, only one street could access it. That restriction no longer would apply at Williamsburg Oaks Townhouses, depending on what the Peoria City Council might decide later this month. New residential construction planned for the development near War Memorial and Mountello drives would trigger permanent closure of King James Road at Jamestown Road. Emergency vehicles would be exempted. The King James-Jamestown intersection is open, as it has been since 2004, when Williamsburg Oaks debuted. Also open is the other Williamsburg Oaks access point, at Jamestown Road and Queen Frances Lane, just south of War Memorial Drive.
