New Plymouth Weet-Bix TRYathlon goes ahead day after being postponed

Van Werder, 8, from Woodleigh School made easy work of the event which became a duathlon due to unsafe water quality in the ocean.
His favourite part of being involved was watching the expression on each child's face as they crossed the finish line.
“Seeing kids feel like champions, every kid who crosses the finish line feels like they have won a gold medal at the Olympics.”

Ngaere School student Celia Gribble, 10, said the event was “fun and tiring”.
