New road name chosen for Rebel Drive By Megan Wehring KYLE — Veterans Drive will replace West Ranch to Market 150, pending Kyle City Council’s approval. “This will represent every person and all Armed Forces,” said committee member Priscilla Harrell. “Our veterans, great warriors and fighters. We all know our veterans defend our country and freedom every day.” Veterans Drive was the favorable choice with a simple majority vote. While the committee must make its recommendation to city council on Feb. 2, it will also recommend that Martin Luther King Jr. Street and Albert Taylor Street be considered for future roads. “These two names should be prominently considered the next two times the city has a naming issue because we are only going to continue to grow as a city and an area,” said committee member David Glickler. “We are going to get bigger roads and I think we should at least put forth the fact that these two names made it all the way to this vote.”
