News Five Addresses Recent Story on Commerce Bight Investments
News Five extends its sincere apologies to both former Area Representative Frank ‘Papa’ Mena and Doctor Peter Allen for the story we broadcast on April fifteenth, 2021. We reported that a pair of siblings claimed that they had been swindled out of a two-million-dollar investment in Commerce Bight by Frank ‘Papa’ Mena and Doctor Peter Allen. Regrettably, we relied on information received which had not been independently verified and has proven to be untrue. In the circumstances, we had no proper basis for saying that either Mena or Doctor Allen had any stake in the company R.S.L., would benefit in any way from any Commerce Bight project, or that Mena owned any land in Commerce Bight by which he would benefit by way of any electricity project. We acknowledge that the story may have damaged both Frank ‘Papa’ Mena’s and Doctor Peter Allen’s reputation and caused them humiliation and distress. We, therefore, unreservedly apologize to both of them for this. We inform our viewers and followers on social media that we retract all the allegations against both Frank Mena and Doctor Allen in full and shall not repeat them. It is our hope that this apology and retraction will repair any injury suffered by Mena and Doctor Allen as a result of the allegations we aired and restore their reputations.
