The Kerala government has announced that the monoclonal antibody required for treating Nipah virus infections has arrived in the state. Although the medicine is not clinically proven, it is currently the only available antiviral treatment for the virus. The stability of the medicine was discussed with a central expert committee, who will determine the next course of action. The government has urged people to exercise caution in their daily activities but assured that there is no need for apprehension regarding the Nipah outbreak.
