Nipah virus outbreak: 9 states at risk, situation under cont

There are two strains of the Nipah virus in India: the Malaysian strain and the strain from Bangladesh. The Nipah virus strain detected in Kerala is identified as the Indian Genotype (I Genotype), which bears similarities to the strain found in Bangladesh.
