Sadly, this one is empty of customers. This is believed to be the inside of the Three Horseshoes in Drybridge Street, Monmouth. It’s a carefully arranged photograph with glasses and bottles on the barrels turned into tables and displays of bottles, advertisements and stacks of boxes printed with the famous names of Champagne and cognac producers. It was probably set up as a promotional photograph. The Three Horseshoes was established as a pub in the 1880s by William Phelps who ran a forge in the street.
