COVID-19 is deadly. No question about that. But there is a virus deadlier than the coronavirus: corruption.
Sadly, we can't call the disease caused by such a virus Graft-20 or even Graft-19. Graft isn't native to Malaysia but it sure is an old Malaysian malady.
Being ancient, it is very entrenched. Even foreigners, like the Pakistani who bribed an immigration officer to release a group of foreign nationals, have given a new meaning to the slogan "Malaysia Boleh", literally "Malaysia Can".
To them, it means money makes things happen in Malaysia. What a shame. And graft is so widespread, even MACC officers do get caught in it on occasion.
