'Insubordinate' email sparked investigation into West Fargo's former assistant police chief

Amid an ongoing internal investigation, Boyer resigned from the West Fargo Police Department on Sept. 15, and his resignation became effective Oct. 1. He was placed on paid administrative leave on Aug. 19 while the department conducted an internal investigation into Boyer's conduct and "possible violations of policy."
