Gagnon, 90, of Sanford, died on Friday, May 7, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Residence in Portland. Robert was born in Canada on Nov. 27, 1930, to Albert and Delianne (Guillemette) Gagnon. When he was young his family relocated to Sanford where he was raised. In 1953 he married Theresa Bernier and together they raised two children and shared nearly 67 years of marriage. During his working life he was employed for several years at the mills in Sanford before taking a position as a custodian at Emerson School where he was employed for 22 years until his retirement. During his retirement he continued to work for several years as a fill in custodian whenever he was needed.
