OECD Environmental Performance Review of Ireland - 10:30 Dublin time on Monday 10 May 2021
05/05/2021 - Ireland’s efforts to delink its economy from environmental pressures have been challenged by strong economic growth in recent years that has driven up greenhouse gas emissions, waste generation and nutrient pollution. Intensive farming, population growth, urban sprawl and road traffic are also having an impact on the environment. At the same time, policies to curb climate change, protect biodiversity and build a more circular economy have gained new impetus including through large public investment plans. The OECD will present a new Environmental Performance Review of Ireland on Monday 10 May 2021 that examines Ireland’s progress towards its environmental and climate objectives and towards achieving greener growth. A special chapter focuses on sustainable mobility and freight.
