One Midland man has died as a result of a Christmas Eve fire, while two responding police officers are still hospitalized in critical condition.
At about 11:13 p.m. on the night of Dec. 24, Midland Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of West Union Street for a domestic assault complaint. When officers arrived, one of the involved parties, a 49-year-old Midland man, was located in a detached garage, where he was dousing himself with "fuel of some kind," according to an MPD press release.
