With incidents of online child exploitation on the rise in Alberta, parents need to step up their efforts at protecting their children, according to a specialized provincial police unit that investigates online child exploitation.

Last year, ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit started a record number of new investigations with over 2,100 intakes. That's an increase of more than 50 per cent from the previous year.(Voyagerix/Shutterstock)
With incidents of online child exploitation on the rise in Alberta, parents need to step up their efforts at protecting their children, according to a specialized unit of Alberta's Law Enforcement Teams (ALERT) that focuses on those crimes.
