Article by Social Share Coordinator of the COVID-19 national vaccination programme, Major David Clarke said there has been an overwhelming response from frontline workers for the first dose of the vaccine. As a result, the start of the next phase of the vaccination programme will be delayed until next week, the Immunisation Unit of the Ministry of Health and Wellness said on Wednesday. Clarke said a few hundred frontline workers, particularly in the hotel sector, who did not come forward during the first phase of the programme, have recently indicated an interest in getting the vaccine. He said the Immunisation Unit will, therefore, focus on administering first doses to these workers this week, a process that is expected be completed by early next week.
