Orchid House in Whitworth Road was upgraded for being safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. The unannounced inspection was carried out by the Care Quality Commission in March to look at the overall quality of the service. The care home was providing personal care and support for six adults with learning disabilities and autism at the time of the inspection. The report reveals people using the service felt safe, with staff receiving the right training to enable them to recognise signs and symptoms of abuse. One person’s relative said residents are “perfectly safe”, adding: “Every other day they sent photos or texts telling us what they are doing, whether they are well or unwell.”
