MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's Fire and Police Commission received an update on the state of the Fire Department Wednesday night, Jan. 27. Acting Chief Aaron Lipski talked to the commission members about what a challenging year 2020 was for the department. He says MFD averages more than 5,000 calls for service every year. "The workload is through the roof, the resources are scarce, our demographics don't reflect that of the city of Milwaukee, not even close, but our standards haven't changed," said Lipski. "When we go out the door, we still have to be able to do our job with urgency and skill, decency."
